Talvar Water Transfer System Project
Project specifications and overall objective:
The Talvar water conveyance project entails the construction of a 22-kilometer canal system—comprising trapezoidal channels, flumes, and box culverts—along with the procurement and installation of 2,000 mm and 1,800 mm steel pipes for associated structures and technical facilities, as well as the fabrication, transport, and installation of hydromechanical equipment. The project aims to supply agricultural water for 32,000 hectares of land in the Garmab and Khorkhoreh plains via pressurized sprinkler irrigation systems; the system’s conveyance capacity is 27 cubic meters per second up to the Mehrabad distribution point, after which it reduces to 20.8 cubic meters per second.
